KPMG's issues research on the electric power sector
Think BRIC! Key considerations for investors targeting the power sectors of the world’s largest emerging economies – Comparative Study is an overview of a series of country reports prepared by KPMG for investors targeting the power sectors of BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) countries.
It highlights the major trends and challenges that will determine how the power sector in these economies will evolve over the next decade. It positions the BRIC nations among the top 10 global energy consumers (accounting for 40 percent of the world’s population and 23 percent of the global GDP) and emphasizes their role in the development of the global economy. Further, it compares the population, GDP, electricity market dynamics and investment opportunities of the BRIC countries, besides outlining the investment need of the power sectors in these countries, analyzing histories, and forecasting potential returns by assessing their political, socio-economic, technical, environmental and legal issues.
